Don't shoot the messenger Please!

Greetings all my little blogger friends. When you read this post I should be coming out of my post operative state! What? I know sorry I didn't keep you all as informed as I should have but I myself was really terrified. Which I must admit doesn't really happen much to me from health status point. I've worked in healthcare for so long that things like a little old heart procedure shouldn't scare me right? Well, this morning at the age of 33 I underwent a cardiac ablation. WTH, is what I'm guessing you're asking. Well, I have had for several years a condition that went undiagnosed called Supra Ventricular Tachycardia. (those of you who have been following Stellan it's the same thing) My symptoms have always been there but have never been actually caught in the act until a little over a month ago. I pass out when I vomit, I have SOA when I talk and I have a rapid heart rate.
I dropped the kids off at Lucy's on my way to work just like always. I felt a little off that morning, just not with it. I could feel my heart racing and I knew what was happening. I got to work and checked my pulse it was 212. I thought, no way. That can't be right. My heart was pounding so hard. I went and sat at my desk drank some water thinking maybe I had just got around to fast you know basically making an excuse! Finally, after sitting there for a little longer I hooked myself up to the EKG machine waited for it to give me the green light and hit start. It picked up the SVT on paper. I ended up having to go lie down for 2 hours just to get my heart rate to drop back down below 88. And even then every time I'd sit up we'd bounce back up to 90. So, when my doctor arrived I talked him in to just watching me and not shipping me to the ER right then and there. My blood pressure was ok and I promised to not do any work and positional changes to cause it to go back up (those of you who know me know how difficult this was.) I was quickly worked in with the Cardiologist and scheduled for an ECHO 2 weeks later. I saw the Cardiologist Electrophysiologist a week after my Echo and he said You need this procedure. It's pretty clear cut case and given your history of passing out I'm not comfortable with you just taking a medication that may or may not help while you are driving around in your car with your kids. So, this morning I was cath'd and they took a little cautery and burned away the extra firing node on my heart. I'm supposed to be in the hospital for 24 hours just for observation after the procedure. I'll be home until Thursday provided all goes well. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. And, don't be too hard on me for not telling you all. I just didn't feel like my problem was near the problems of Stellan or Heather. It's just a simple heart related procedure!

Uh honey, it's more then just a 'simple heart procedure'...it's serious anytime they are messing with your heart!
I am of course, thinking of you and praying that all goes well!
Love and Kisses,
Chandra
