A week in review

This week has been long in many ways. It's been an emotional roller coaster. June 4th, I learned my cousin at the age of 22 was killed in a car accident. 2 months ago his sister was in a tragic however, not fatal accident and she has been recovering from a brain injury. This family has had so much stress and sadness this year. I was unable to attend his funeral. I have had mixed emotions about the entire ordeal. My family lives over 3 hours away and unfortunately a cousin isn't covered under immediate family on bereavement leave. With Madeline having her tonsils out this week and my recent heart surgery I couldn't take off. Ironically, the day of the funeral yours truly was sent home from work with a fever of 102 and strep throat. I don't think I've been that sick in years. Life is hard in many ways and we have to make choices that some times are very hurtful to others. Dustin was a awesome kid. I remember when he was born. I remember what he dressed up as his first Halloween (Dalmatian) He was always happy. He was polite and loved only one girl more than any other. His mom. They had an amazing relationship, as other siblings came along he always appreciated her and she him. While I can't possibly imagine what my aunt must be feeling or how to even go on. Our family was lucky to have him the short time we did. Dustin will be missed from our family but, for me knowing he's up in heaven with Grandpa Bill helps. It helps to know now we have one more guardian angel on our side.

Tricia,

I am so sorry that I have not been able to be praying for you until today. You have been going through so much tragedy...

My heart goes out to you.

I hope that your little girl is feeling better after her surgery...

I am praying for you as you grieve your family members...

I did not know that you had surgery, I hope you are okay (it must have been before I have been following your blog)

What a difficult time in your life.

Take care of yourself my friend.
