A huge day in literacy!

So today I decided Madeline and I would go to the Library while the boys were running errands. We had a great time! She was so amazed that we could take the books home just like she does from school. She checked out 6 books. That's right I said 6! And you'll be happy to know that she's already read them all. But the big thing today wasn't that she read all 6 books within 2 hours of being home. No, that's not that big of a deal. It's also not that big of a deal she asked the librarian who the author of OLIVIA was and wrote it down so she could go look by herself. It's not that big of a deal that she put Pinkalicious on hold by herself! The big deal was this.... She got her very own library card and checked them out herself. I've never seen someone so proud of a library card.  Who knows what she'll become when she grows up she could be anything she wants. But watching the wonder and amazement in those 2 big blue eyes was something I'll never forget!

I love this story!

My kids still use the same library cards they got when they were little. They're a little embarrassed about their elementary school signatures, but who cares. I think it's adorable.

It sounds like you have a perfectly lovely day!

Pinkalicious is awesome! You'll have to make pink cupcakes after you read it - or before to have on hand! Good job Maddie!
